They provide a shuttle to Tavan Bogd National Park on Sundays beginning on June 22nd. Two different shuttles go to the Tavan Bogd Mountains Ranger Station and the bridge between Khoton and Khurgan Lakes allowing for trekking between the 2 places. The van is $214 divided by each passanger (up to 8).

When we decided that our big summer trip would be to Mongolia we were most worried about how to go about finding a good, reliable tour company. We didn’t have much to go on but after the the trip was over we all knew the decision to go with Kazakh tour was the right one. We did the Great Altai Trek and it was great. Sometimes tiring, Hard work. But great. Dosjan picked us up from the airport and took excellent care of us while we were in UB. Then he put us in great hands when he handed us over to our guides. This is an authentic tour and you will certainly get to know the mongolian lifestyle upclose and personal. I highly recommend this tour if you’re heading to Mongolia and want to get out into the country. The most memorable trek in my life.

Top notch professional outfitter
A small group of us used Kazakh Tour for a two week custom trip combining several things: cultural insight of Kazakhs and Tuvans, several day horse treks, multiple ger visits, museums, private time with eagle hunters and culminating in attending a two-day eagle hunter festival. I’ve taken similar trips before in other areas and know how difficult they can be. They’re logistically challenging, and in a place like Western Mongolia, can be quite dangerous, considering the absence of decent roads and medical helicopter evacuation facilities. In other words, you don’t go if you don’t trust these people. And after what I’ve seen, take it from me, you can trust Dosjan and his staff.
Dosjan, the head of the company, led our trip himself. Our safety was his primary concern. By the standards of this kind of trip, we were more than comfortable (ie pit toilet protected by a nice tent, decent food, boiled water). All we wanted and more than we expected. He’s got a great network of locals throughout the region who set up gers for him and provide him with support. His own staff, drivers, guides, cooks, are pleasant, helpful, hard-working, and have a great sense of humor. He’s related to several, friends with a few more, and many have worked for him for years. They all work well together as a cohesive team, anticipating problems with minimal supervision which is just what you want at the end of a cold day when you’re exhausted—your ger already set up and a nice hot cup of tea and God bless the people who made that happen.
During the festival, I had the opportunity to observe and compare some of his competitors. Due to the popularity of the Eagle Huntress movie, there’s been a strong interest in tourists and journalists and dozens of companies in the area are providing services. Several had flashier tents or other gimmicks, but after talking to their customers, none of them had experienced a fraction of what we had.
This kind of trip isn’t for everyone. You should be in good physical shape. It helps if you can hike a bit, know how to layer clothing, even better, have some experience with horses if you’re planning on riding. But if you’ve got your mind set on the whole experience of Western Mongolia and want the whole thing, these are your guys. They’ll show you what you want, take care of you, have fun with you, and do it in a non-patronizing way that will make you want to come back again and know more about the Kazakh people and their culture. This is a great country, a great people and an outstanding outfitting company.
